Governor Rochas Okorocha Lashed at for Approving N600m for X-mas Decoration

Governor Rochas of Imo State has been slammed over reports for approving N600 millions for Christmas and New Year Decor.

The former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, reacted as he was in shocked over the reported approval.
Via his media aide,Chibuike Onyeuku, he said such funds should not be used at the time the indigenes of the state are going through untold hardship arising from over 20 months of unpaid salary arrears and pensions.

He ranted: "There are several unresolved industrial disputes, while the state's infrastructure base has collapsed. Today, there is palpable lack of vision for the genuine development of the development of the state, but the government chose to embark on such inciting and frivolous window dressing."

"Despite the prevailing widespread disenchantment being expressed by citizens, who recently called for his immediate impeachment over the alarming rate of hunger and insecurity occasionally by the inept handling of issues of government  and unrepentant deceit so far exhibited by the Okorocha led administration, the governor has refused to repent or address such concerns and other critical issues."

"Preparations for Christmas Celebration is a tradition all over the world."

Furthermore Chief Ihedioha stated that, "It was ridiculous and indeed smacks of insensitivity for the government to spend over 600 million Naira on decorations when families can no longer afford their meals and basic needs as a result of non payment of the salaries, pensions and other entitlements."

"The governor has embarked on several trips aboard to woo non-existent investors with a view to actualizing his failed promises of aggressive industrialization and employment of youths."

The state House of Assembly has received calls by some group that he should be impeached,as the trouble associated to the All Progressive Congress (APC) seem have increased.
